FAR or NEAR… You are invited to celebrate GURU PUJA
Jeffrey Armstrong – Kavindra Rishi’s 69 Birthday
GRATITUDE: HAS THE VEDIC KNOWLEDGE SERVED YOU THIS PAST YEAR?
For many of us, there is no way to repay the blessings and benefits we have received after hearing the Vedic knowledge presented by Jeffrey Armstrong (Kavindra Rishi). It has changed our lives and consciousness and continues to do so in many profound ways. VASA – Vedic Academy of Sciences & Arts, not only provides a place for the exchange of knowledge but also has become the spiritual home and place of inspiration and transformation for many souls.
WHAT is GURU PUJA
According to the Vedic tradition, on the birthday of the spiritual teacher, the students and devotees conduct the ceremony called Guru Puja or Vyasa-puja. The celebration honors your specific teacher and all other spiritual teachers as well. After a sumptuous Indian vegetarian feast all gather in the temple room and the traditional guru-puja mantra is sung by the students, and the guru/teacher is felicitated and garlanded. Following that, the guru/teacher accepts personal expressions of gratitude from individual students. It is a very moving ceremony as students and friends have the opportunity to voice their gratitude & support for the efforts of their spiritual teacher in his commitment and dedication to bringing the Vedic knowledge to their lives. By supporting him, one helps and serves the cause of that same divine knowledge reaching others, and by so doing, fulfills the desire of all gurus – that the wonderful Vedic wisdom will reach as many souls as possible.
Personal expressions of gratitude may be expressed in the following ways:
Out of town students may submit their offerings prior to Dec 4. We will either read your offering for you, or we can record it and play it at the event, or we can schedule a telephone call from you during the event.
In lieu of gifts…
Jeffrey’s only desire is to spread the Vedic knowledge and you can help in a number of ways. This year most of the funds we raise will go to the Bhagavad Gita project. Funds are required for web site development, editors, final graphics, pre-marketing etc. and to simply allow “time” where Jeffrey can just write.
