Poets: killed first by despots, unwelcome in corporations, unwanted in the want-ads, unpaid unless posing as comedians, adored by lovers and the broken-hearted, welcome at funerals if we are polite. A poet is an eternal voice trying to be beautiful in an ugly city, honestly lip-syncing with glad-handing politicos. As poets we celebrate the human voice—with outspoken, beautiful, exquisite lies and timeless truths.
The ancient saying is: “Don’t write poetry unless you’ll die if you don’t”, to which I would only add that you WILL die a little each day unless you find and use your true voice. When I was 13 poetry began to uncontrollably flow through me. Over time, enhanced by my meditations, informed by the Vedic knowledge, confirmed by my life experiences, that tentative stream became a flooding river within my heart. Like the Ganga or Sarasvati Rivers rushing into the fathomless ocean of the Transcendental, into whose deeps all Poets and Rishis have poured their burning oblations.
So please…be brave, be the naked soul, risk all and there you will find us poets one and all, naked, disheveled, unexpected, gorgeous, ranting and raving at a collaboration of butterflies, pointing with no fingers, scratching Krishna’s back for Radha, daring cupid to shoot again but this time without the blindfold.

Mystical poetry seeks to reproduce very subtle states of spiritual perception. In India, the Bhakti and Tantric schools of mystical poetry speak in a voice that longs for intimacy with the Divine Beloved. They attempt to reveal the emotions exchanged in the relationship between the soul and the Eternal Lover or Beloved God.
As an initiate of those ancient teachings, Kavindra embodies and is able to pass on the sublime fruits of those sacred traditions. This initiates the listener directly into the ecstatic emotional states of spiritual bliss. His poems are literally windows into the Divine realm that are revealed to him during profound states of meditation.
