The Science of Sacred Sexuality
The first sexual question is a religious or spiritual inquiry:  Why do we appear as male and female, and what are we supposed to do about our dual nature? The Bible says, “God made man and woman in his image.” Does that mean that the Supreme Being is a he or she, a he and she, or a he and a lesser being in female form? If we are to believe the story of Adam and Eve, she conspired with Satan in his suspiciously curvy serpent form and pressured poor, gullible Adam to take a bite of the forbidden fruit of sex. Is the man a victim and the woman a perpetrator? Is that our everyday experience of men and women?...   <READ MORE>

Spiritual Teachings of the Avatar
Paradigm-shifting ideas can germinate for years, even decades, until the time is right for them to manifest. So when I heard that it took over 20 years for director James Cameron to develop the vision for his recent megablockbuster film Avatar, I was not surprised. We do have something in common: I have spent the last 40 years studying the deepest meanings of the word “avatar” and the multilayered teachings associated with it.   <READ MORE>

Ayurvedic Coaching: The Science of Life
During the winter when I was traveling through India, I kept coming across Ayurvedic signs.  I even stumbled into a “ World Ayurvedic Conference ” with plenty of booths selling magic potions curing everything from arthritis to cancer.  Despite all of the pamphlets and experts around me, I didn ’ t really understand what it all meant and why it was so prevalent in India, yet only remotely visible in my own Western community.   <READ MORE>

Ayurveda and Jyotish: An Overview
Ayurveda and Jyotisha are sister sciences, which look at the same reality from their own perspective. Both observe karma or cause and effect, in various states and stages of manifestation. The context for all Vedic science is the “Pancha Maha Bhutas” or “Five Element” world view. What makes this scientific approach so useful is that the five elements can be perceived directly through our unaided senses, without the use of expensive technology.

"Exploring the Unknown" - On Vedic Astrology
FOX Family Cannel aired last season's opening of "Exploring the Unknown" June 2, at 9pm PST with a special on astrology and featuring Vedic Astrologer Jeffrey Armstrong. The Trial of Matter and Eternal Love
We live in a world of opposites. The polarity of light and dark is all around us. It is almost as if the universe is having an argument with itself while we watch. One side of the argument says life is based on power and is only temporary. Death is final, nothing is beyond it and all displays of beauty and love are transient bubbles in an ocean of darkness. In this view, our selfish desires are all that matters and our body is all we are.   <READ MORE>

True Tantra: The Tapestry of Life
A good place to begin defining Tantra is with a companion word, Yoga. Both Tantra and Yoga began in India at least ten thousand years ago. The basis of Yoga is the quest to free the individual soul from matter and return it to a state of union with the Divine. Yoga means union with God. The very basis of both Yoga and Tantra is the eternal nature of the soul or atma as it is called in Sanskrit. Matter is unconscious and the soul is conscious, so the purpose of Yoga is to liberate the atma or consciousness from the cycle of repeated birth and death.   <READ MORE>

You May Not Be the Sign You Think You Are: The Greek Blunder
It is worth repeating that though I am pointing out a mistake which has entered into Tropical Astrology, it is with great respect for anyone who is pursuing our relationship with the cosmos. If you study history, you will see how easy it is for knowledge to get buried or repressed. Just like in our daily life we struggle to remember our purpose and vision amidst so many competing forces, so great wisdom can get lost in the transformative pressures of time. In this discussion of Astrology what is at stake is our link with the Stars.  <READ MORE>

Vedic Astrology: The Star Based Astrology
To understand Astrology it is necessary to have a basic grasp of Astronomy. The horoscope which an astrologer casts and uses to understand a person’s destiny is actually a picture of the sky surrounding the Earth at the moment of birth. Horoscope means “view of the hour.” In order to understand that view some basic Astronomy is necessary. As you will see, the horoscope is not just your Sun sign but includes other planets and the constellations or star groups as well. A proper understanding of Astronomy will also make it clear how Western or Tropical Astrology is using calculations that are inaccurate by almost 2000 years!   <READ MORE>
